Please complete our questionnaire.
The Parish Council has been responding to requests from both Dorset County Council and local residents to provide more affordable rented accommodation so that there is the opportunity for people with an association with the village to continue living here, or return to where they have grown up.
We have had several delays in our attempts to make progress with this project and you can see a summary of the Parish Council’s history through different County and Central Government initiatives on this page of the Parish Council’s website. where you’ll also see a discussion of some of the related issues like restrictions on the right to buy that apply to small communities like ours and the role of the housing association and Parish Council in determining the eligibility of residents of Affordable Housing in Bradford Abbas. Initial work completed with West Dorset District Council has identified a site behind Pettitts Close as the most suitable, with an entrance off Quarry Lane; but other areas may be considered.
The Parish Council would now like to press forward with this but before we enter into discussions again with local landowners and the housing association we would value the opinion of village residents. In particular, we need strong support from the community in order to persuade local landowners that there is a real need for Affordable Housing.
We would be grateful if you would complete the few questions on this questionnaire and return it to the address below, or complete it at this page of the Parish Council’s website
