The Volunteer Centre has been working hard with the local authority, NHS, local councils, community groups and individuals to support people across Dorset. During the pandemic, many people voluntarily stood up to help in such unprecedented circumstances, supporting their family, friends, neighbours and perfect strangers in their community.
An application from Wessex Water has been made to close BRADFORD ROAD, SHERBORNE between its junction with Kenelm Close to a point approximately 165 metres north east. The closure has been requested to allow Wessex Water to carry out a service repair. These works are programmed to commence between 1830 and 0700 from 04 July 2022 until 06 July 2022.
The Parish Council has a vacancy for the Clerk to start as soon as possible.
The Parish Council has been in contact with OpenReach to see how the Bradford Abbas Ultrafast Community Project is progressing as several people have enquired about the fibre cables that have been strung up now for some time.
The Fibre Community Partnership team at Openreach have given us this progress report:
You may have been concerned to receive an email from culture.gov.uk (DCMS) warning you that your Gigabit voucher was about to expire if Openreach hasn’t completed the fibre installation to your premises within the next 4 weeks.
Hopefully installation work will continue apace but …
I contacted Openreach and received the following answer. (TL;DR: Don’t panic! There’s no action we need to take.)

The Parish Council has been successful in its submission for National Lottery Community Funding and now, together with amazing contributions from the local community, we have almost enough to purchase the new multi-play unit, additional picnic tables, and football goal posts
