In July we received an update from OpenReach that their estimate for completion was 7th September.
Since then I have received one more update from OpenReach saying:
Just a quick e-mail to update you on what is happening with your scheme.
Our chief engineers have advised there are delays to this scheme and the engineers are now working towards an estimated completion date of 31/10/2022.
We will continue to monitor the progress of the project and as soon as we have any further updates we will be in touch”
Some residents seem to be ready to be connected via FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) as quite a few people have now been emailed by OpenReach to alert them to contact their retail supplier, but others (including people I have spoken to in North Street for example) have not been notified that they are ready to be connected.
I can only guess at what delays to this scheme are but I know that there are likely issues with some trees and some poles on the railway embankment.
As soon as I know anything new I’ll post it on the Parish Council website and send out a newsletter as usual.
