Bradford Abbas Art Exhibition
18th–19th November
The Bradford Abbas Art Exhibition will take place at The Mill, Mill Lane (just past the school), on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th November, 10.00 am – 4 pm. This will be rare opportunity to view the work of all the amazing artists, young and old, who live in the village! This is an exciting new event in the village and open to everyone.
Entrance is free but we will be asking for donations towards the St.Mary’s Churchyard restoration and maintenance fund. Should you decide to purchase any of the works on display, a proportion of the price will go towards the fund.
If you are an artist residing in the village and would like to contribute one or two of your works to the exhibition, we would love to hear from you. Please call Jenny, tel 07961 877929.
Bradford Abbas Parish Council
You may already be aware that there has been some damage to equipment in the park. All the damage including the graffiti has been reported to the police and PSCO. One of the picnic benches has been damaged beyond repair. Currently the Parish Council is hesitant to replace it. Should it be replaced? Please contact the Clerk Sandra Hillier (bradfordabbas@dorset-aptc.gov.uk or 07885371101) with your views concerning replacing the picnic table.
A note of thank you to those residents that wrote to Mr M Prosser tat Dorset Council o request the footpath application T725 is prioritised. Disappointingly, it has been “prioritised” for the second half of 2024. The Parish Council will also write to Dorset Council to request it is re-prioritised.
The Parish Council is very grateful to John for the top shelf book end he made from horseshoes and donated to the village to stop the articulated arm on the phone box door knocking the books from the top shelf.
The Parish Council has been made aware of, and objected to, an application to remove the current post box located on Church Road from service. It has been proposed a post box will be installed on Churchwell Street. This is not a public application, and the Parish Council will keep the residents informed of the outcome.

ST MARY’S CHURCHYARD
We have now had five volunteer sessions to help improve the look and feel of our churchyard and our thanks go out to everyone who has come along to help out.
On 20th September, we held an open meeting to discuss the plan to set up a Friends Group with the aim of making it a more beautiful place to spend time and a better tribute to those who have their final resting place there. Wind and rain sadly kept some people away, but we made some progress. If you are interested in this project but were unable to come to the meeting, please contact Gary S to make sure he has you on the list of potential friends (call or text on 07799 430400 or email garysiggins@hotmail.com).
