The Interpretation Board, which stands in the village near the War Memorial, is the result of an idea put into action by Bradford Abbas History Society.

Angela Haigh, Chair of the History Society,  tells us the story of the Interpretation Board for which we have to thank Derek Hayward for all the hard work he put in to make it finally happen, together with several very generous funders.

You can read the History Society's full description here

Grants were obtained, by the History Society's treasurer Derek Hayward, from the Heritage Lottery Fund, West Dorset District Council, Bradford Abbas Parish Council and a donation from the Festival of Wheels. He also liaised with the company throughout the many months it took to complete the project.
