Extraordinary Parish Council Meeting on Monday, 24 January 2022

Present: Cllrs L Bennett (Chair), P Clark, I Houston (Vice Chair), T Hunt and J Thomas

In attendance: T Chapman (Clerk)

  1. Welcome & to receive apologies for absence
    Cllr L Bennett welcomed the Councillors to the meeting and noted the purpose is to discuss and finalise the budget for 2022/23.

    Apologises received and accepted from Cllrs S Longdon and D Coffin.
     
  2. To receive declarations of interests
    None.

    Public period for comments and issues on the agenda (up to 15 minutes allocated for electors, residents in the parish or adjoining parishes to comment on any items to be discussed for decision.)
    No members of the public in attendance.
     
  3. To review and finalise the 2022/23 budget
    It was agreed the precept will raise from the precept £12,825 to £16,025.

    £ 3,135  Salaries/training and expenses
    £ 4,100  Playing field grass cutting and maintenance
    £    150  Hire of the village hall
    £ 1,200  Grants/donations to local charities
    £     550  Parish Council Insurance
    £     400  Subscriptions
    £     150  Auditors
    £    250  Parish Council Website
    £     150  Fingerpost repairs
    £ 1,000  Queen’s Jubilee (includes tree and planting)
    £    500  Neighbourhood Plan
    £    200  Footpath repairs
    £    300  Telephone Group/ planting throughout the village
    £    440  Contingency
    £ 3,500  New Equipment for the playing field
    £16,025 Final precept to be requested  Action: Clerk
     
  4. To discuss the correspondence received concerning the Pennant Committee
    The Clerk received an email from the remaining Pennant Committee member concerning donations the committee received in the past to cover printing and expenses for the Pennant and as there is no longer a Pennant Committee, they requested the money was held in the Parish Council accounts as a continency or dispersed to local charities and clubs. After careful consideration it was resolved the Parish Council will take on the approximate £1,400 for a contingency/ printing costs only.

    Currently the Pennant does not have any outgoing costs. It is edited and distributed by kind volunteers. The printing costs are generously donated by Mrs A Haynes. The Parish Council is very grateful for all those involved.

    The Clerk will contact the Pennant Committee Member and arrange for the funds to be deposited in the Business Bank Instant account.  Action: Clerk 
     
  5. To discuss and finalise Community Assets
    Cllr L Bennett requested at the Ordinary January Meeting the Councillors review the suggested Community Assets for Bradford Abbas. The Councillors in attendance agreed to apply to Dorset Council for the field across from the pub and Gollops Ground to become community assets. Action: Clerk
     
  6. Any other Information / Date of the Next Meeting
    Tuesday 1st March 2022  Ordinary Parish Council Meeting 7pm in the village hall
