The Pennant May 2021

Telephone Box Update

We hope that you have enjoyed the books, DVDs, puzzles and games over the last few weeks. Thank you for your contributions. We appealed for books for children and received a wonderful selection in super condition, all of which went very quickly and we would now welcome more. We also have a need for books for teenagers. They tell us that they would like James Bond or similar. Thank you also for the seeds and plants that you left by the telephone box over Easter. These were very popular.

Bradford Abbas Village Shop –

A Farewell Message from Alan and Wendy

 Dear villagers of Bradford Abbas

This will be our final message in the Pennant as the shop will be closing its doors for the last time soon after Easter.

At the time of writing Easter Monday will be our last day for newspapers and the previous week for magazines. During our last week there will be deals galore to clear all the stock. We are due to move out by 13th April.

The Pennant March 2021

Bradford Abbas Allotment Holders

We are at the start of a new year for the Allotment Holders Association which we hope will soon get a bit dryer!  The members have found their plots a real godsend during the various lockdowns and restrictions since they were acceptable places to go outside the home.  They certainly helped to maintain sanity as well as avoiding some food shopping.

The Pennant February 2021

Telephone Box Update

We do hope that you are enjoying the wonderful selection of books that have been donated. Thank you to all the people who have left books for us.

Due to the generosity of the people of Bradford Abbas we now have a good reserve stock of books and do not need any more at present (but will do later in March).

We are now appealing for DVDs and jigsaw puzzles so that we can extend our range for February. Please leave any you can spare in the telephone box and we will sort them etc.

A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all residents of Bradford Abbas!

Bradford Abbas Ultrafast Community Project

People in Bradford Abbas are enthusiastically taking up the offer of the UK government to pay Openreach to connect their premises to the internet by fibre optic cable thus - if we can only get a few more people - going from a typical 20 Mbps now, to a possible 900 Mbps.
